Format<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

11 round (Dutch) Swiss, with pairings by Vega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Open, but players who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents must have a FIDE ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter in the form below. Entries close at 1:30pm on Wednesday 8 January. Entry is free for GM, IM, WGM, WIM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time Control<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

All moves in 3 minutes plus a 2 seconds increment per move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prizes (Guaranteed)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The title of Australian Blitz Champion will be awarded to the Australian citizen or permanent resident with the highest final score (after a playoff if required \u2013 see Tiebreak section below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prize money will be shared equally and each player may win only one prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rating<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Pairings and rating prizes will be based on the following rating hierarchy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. FIDE Blitz rating<\/li>
  2. FIDE Rapid rating<\/li>
  3. FIDE Standard rating<\/li>
  4. ACF Quick rating<\/li>
  5. ACF Classic rating<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Tiebreak<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    In the event of a tie for the title between one or more eligible players, a playoff will be held:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • For two players, 2 games with alternate colours, repeated if necessary until the tie is broken.<\/li>
    • For three or more players, a single round robin, repeated if necessary until the tie is broken (with players who are no longer tied for first eliminated after each round robin cycle).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Forfeits<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      The forfeit time for a game is when the player\u2019s time has elapsed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Rules<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
